Is Discord worth your time?
Not an acquisition channel, and treating it as one is the mistake that defines the platform. Everyone in your server already found you. It is where retention, support, and advocacy happen.
Before you connect
- The bot must already be a member of your server with Send Messages on the target channel. Discord has no way for an outside app to post into a server it was not invited to.
- Get the channel id by enabling Settings -> Advanced -> Developer Mode, then right-clicking the channel and choosing Copy Channel ID. It is a long number, not the channel name.
- Paste the Bot token from the Bot tab, not the application's Client Secret. They look similar and only one of them works.

There is no algorithm, no ranking, and no feed
Discord delivers messages chronologically, per channel, to everyone with permission to read that channel. There is no scoring function, no recommendation surface, and no engagement signal that changes who sees a message. Reactions and replies are social feedback and nothing else. Nothing you do after posting changes its reach.
What actually decides how many people see something is mundane. The ceiling is your server's membership. The largest controllable lever is which channel you post in and who can see or has muted it. A role mention converts passive delivery into an actual notification, which is the only reliable way to make a message arrive rather than merely exist, and also the fastest way to burn goodwill.
Two mechanics are worth knowing. Pinning keeps a message reachable after it scrolls away, which is the closest thing Discord has to evergreen content. And an announcement channel can be followed by other servers, so publishing there delivers into every following server, which is the one genuine cross-server amplification mechanic on the platform.

Get your Discord account ready
Create or pick the server: Discord marketing happens in a server you own, not on a public feed. Create one for your product (or use your existing community) - there is no way to broadcast to strangers here. Make an announcements channel: Add a channel the team posts into and members read. Announcement-type channels can be followed by other servers, which cross-posts your message into theirs. Create the bot: At the Developer Portal, create an application, open the Bot tab, and Reset Token to reveal a bot token. Copy it once - Discord never shows it again. Invite the bot: In OAuth2 -> URL Generator tick the 'bot' scope plus Send Messages and Read Message History, open the generated URL, and add the bot to your server.

Connect Discord to Sheevook

- You create a bot in your own server and paste its token. There is no sign-in redirect, because the bot belongs to you and not to us. That token also enables the community reply queue, which a send-only webhook would not.
- Why does Sheevook not show engagement rate for Discord?
- Because there is nothing for it to mean. No ranker rewards reactions here, so an engagement rate would be a number with no decision attached to it. Sheevook does not put metrics on screen that cannot change what you do next.
- When is the best time to post to Discord?
